Château Belá in Slovakia is a centuries old, renovated estate currently owned by Countess Ilona von Krockow who purchased it from the Slovakian state in 2000 after the breakup from socialist Czechoslovakia. The long history of the estate and the grounds date back to the 16 and 17th centuries, and what a tale it is. Formerly a penitentiary in more recent years, it has been fully renovated to the grand lady it was and serves the people in the region as a hotel, banquet hall, Catholic church and wedding venue.
On site, visitors will enjoy grass tennis courts, a heated pool, dry and steam saunas and massages after a long afternoon of driven pheasant shooting.
